Forest Schools & Natural Play Areas

A Forest School is a secure area of land/woodland which acts as an outdoor classroom. The successful initiative offers children an opportunity to explore and discover the natural environment whilst under supervision.

D W Shotton Landscapes have established a number of Forest School and Natural Play Area sites for Local Authority Schools.  Works have included: Outdoor shelters and classrooms, pathways, seating, fencing and clearing works. 

At our local playing field in Ditton Priors the budget was very small.  By working closely with the Landscape Architect we refurbished the existing timber play equipment and incorporated natural elements such as boulders, planting, logs and grass mounds.
