Sports Field Construction

Sports fields can be made to any specification. Sizes may range from a single football pitch, cricket pitch or running track through to a multi-pitch sports complex. We can perform all stages of sports field construction, including the ground work and drainage, soil replacement, levelling and seeding and turfing. We can also perform drainage, sand slitting, gravel banding and sand dressing to existing pitches.
	Our low ground pressure Cat D6 can be used for removing top soil and levelling of sub soil.
	Our low ground pressure Cat D3 can remove and replace top soil. It is seen here pushing out top soil using a laser levelling system attached to the blade. This is capable of putting in levels accurate to ± 5mm.
	Once the levels are in, the main drains are installed down to depths of 1000mm, followed by the lateral drains to a depth of 600mm. The machine shown is a Shelton Super Trencher - capable of digging trenches 25- 125mm wide. The spoil can be collected and removed from site. The pipe and gravel are inserted simultaneously with trenching using our modified Shelton Super Trencher.

	The final levels are installed with our Blec Laser Grader.
	With the drainage system completed, the surface can be prepared for seed. Our stone burier can bury stone 6" beneath the surface. This removes any stone from the playing surface, improves the drainage, and creates a tilth which makes a perfect seed bed.
The surface is then seeded and fertilised, and nature left to take it's course. The finished product. This field was constructed for a large Japanese Manufacturing company. The site was levelled, drained, stone removed and buried, then seeded and maintained until the grass was well established and ready for playing. The result is a top quality sports pitch that can be used all year round.
